Where has the time gone???

While it has been some time since our last post, University Villages has been busy all summer long with Area gatherings, baseball games, Water Day, and of course handing out Ice Cream on the golf cart. Now that school has started for the Fall, we will be better about updating the blog and our Facebook page.

Some upcoming events to take note of-- The residents in Craighead, Sisson and Helena Courts will be having an area gathering on Friday, October 1st.

Coffee and Donuts on every Friday of the school year- 7:15am- 10:00am at the Community Center

South African Night- Food, Dance, Film

On March 6th, University Villages was fortunate enough to have Floyd and Libby Khumalo share a taste of South Africa with some authentic food and native dance, as well as some trivial facts about the country that Floyd calls home. We had a great turnout and everyone enjoyed the food and other residents they met!

Cultural Food Events

University Villages residents have been treated to some French culture through the Crepe Brunch on February 27th at the Community Center. The Community Center was full of good food, good conversations and good times had by all.

2009 Holiday Time at University Villages

University Villages had our annual Holiday party on December 13th, 2009. Santa stopped by to visit with the kids along with everyone making gingerbread houses and getting into the Holiday spirit.

Haunted Community Center for 2009

The 13th annual Haunted House in the Community Center was held on Wednesday October 28th - a fun and spooky time was had by all! Thank you to CA Kori Miller for capturing these pictures for us to share with you. The Haunted House takes about 5-6 days to construct and decorate, so there are many man hours included in this project. This free event if put on for the residents of University Villages only. Unviersity Villages would like to thank the Community Assistants, their spouses, children and our Maintenance and Custodial staff for helping make the event a success.

Homecoming 2009 ---Brrrrrrr!

We had a few brave souls join us for the 2009 Homecoming Parade this year--we had six kids actually dress warm and show their Grizzly pride while handing out candy to others along the parade route. The Community Assistants joined forces with the Resident Assistants from the dorms, with this years theme being Home Sweet Home. University Villages Osprey Night on the Deck- 2009

University Villages arranged for three nights this summer for residents to take in a baseball game- the night highlighted here is the night we had dinner on the deck along with the game. Community Assistant, Floyd Khumalo took part in racing around the field to change the bases and CA spouses, Zebah Burdeau and Danny Zimmerman had fun Sumo wrestling! University Villages Water Day, August 2009

Every summer the Community Assistants put out a huge Water Slide as well as wading pools for everyone, kids and adults to cool off and have some fun! Here are some pictures from the day.

University Villages Gardeners

Here are some pictures of the garden plots that we started earlier this spring. We have had a group of tenants go out and work on the garden - watering, weeding, and harvesting.
